Our aim ‘To Inspire, to Challenge and to Achieve beyond our Imaginings’ is rooted in the Bible’s teachings, especially the verse;
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
Our Christian ethos underpins everything we do at St Nicholas. We are proud of our role in the community, exemplified by our older pupils’ role in arranging social occasions with elderly members of the community. We are lucky enough to be situated very close to St Nicholas church and regularly have collective worship in church, led by members of the church community, teaching staff and pupils.
We recognise that the Bible highlights many positive behaviours that are important for us today. Our behaviour values are rooted in Biblical teachings;
‘Do unto others as you would have them do to you.’ Luke 6:13
Be kind and gentle
‘Be kind to each other, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has forgiven you.’ Ephesians 4:32
‘He who shuts his ear to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be answered.’
Be the best you can be
‘No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden. Instead he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in may see the light.’
